The Austere Beauty of Monochrome

The fourth installment of League art-by-theme features.

The theme of today's features is The Austere Beauty of Monochrome: elegant, pensive, and often haunting, these are works in monochrome or a very limited pallet.

I adore this peak into Riven's story, as though we're looking at a snap shot of the movie Riot needs to make.

The style of this piece reminds me of Yasuo's play style: a mad flurry of action underscored by the cool, calm control of that zen black and white palette.

The colors give me a sense of cold quiet just before the BOOM!

The colors here give me a sense of melancholy. There's something sad, but she has that "se la vi" attitude about it. Perhaps this is the wry resignation of an assassin to her work.

Oh those colors just suit Talon flawlessly. Cold, cool, capable, and beautiful.

Again, coldly beautiful. Which bird do you think could strike faster?

A sense of holding breath, time frozen. All the colors and noise are faded out leaving only that bare, agonizing moment.
